Bis 1996 wurde dort kommerziell Salz abgebaut, als die Preise fielen und die Mine \u00fcberflutet wurde. \u00dcber viele Jahrhunderte hinweg war die Mine entscheidend f\u00fcr die polnische Wirtschaft.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Heute ist sie ein UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe, das von etwa 1,2 Millionen Menschen j\u00e4hrlich besucht wird.
